Benefiting Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas | October 2013

Do you see those two gorgeous ladies up there? That’s my mother-in-law and sister-in-law! They are so important to me, and I’m glad to be part of their family! They are two sweet, loving, and strong women, and they are both cancer survivors. My sister-in-law had childhood cancer, and my mother-in-law is a breast cancer survivor of almost six years! When my husband was in undergrad and got news of his mother’s diagnosis, it scared both of us, and we feel so blessed to still have her in our lives, and in the life of our daughter. Sadly, too many people and families aren’t as lucky as we are, and that’s why places like The Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas are so important! This organization offers amazing resources to women and men suffering from breast cancer. They help those affected by breast cancer navigate through all of the obstacles that come with being diagnosed and treated. From support groups to even helping around the house, they are there for all of those who are going through this difficult time. They tirelessly offer their hands and hearts to help others!

That’s why I am so excited to announce that during October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I’m offering special Mother & Daughter Sessions to capture the amazing relationship between a mother and daughter! The best part is that when you purchase one of these session, the proceeds will be donated to The Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas! I am so looking forward to these sessions!

These Mother & Daughter sessions are great for multiple generations, and even include professional make-up artistry in the session fee! For the standard session fee of $425 plus tax, you will receive a consultation (either in person, online video chat, or over the phone – not just emails), an hour and a half photo session with up to two wardrobe options, professional make up artistry, an in-person viewing and ordering appointment, and a password protected online gallery for you to share with family and friends, plus a special gift! This is the money that will go toward BCRC, and it’s my big hope that we can get some great money over to these wonderful people!

Fun With Family! | Houston Family Lifestyle Photographer

Okay, you guys, I have been OBSESSED with doing video and fusion stuff lately and have been wanting to try it out for a while. So, what better subject than my own husband and baby girl?

The days here in Houston have been hotter than hot, but yesterday at least offered a few clouds and a tiny bit of a breeze, so the family and I ventured out to our local park! Of course, I had to take my camera with me, and decided I would make a stop-motion fusion video of Sophia playing around the park with her daddy! I am so glad I did, because while I was editing each photo, I saw some of the cutest faces that she’s possibly ever made! It was a nice surprise while editing, because while taking the photos for the stop-motion portion of the video, I had to hold the shutter down and just blast out frames as quickly as possible. I definitely didn’t get to see some of her expressions while I was shooting, so it was fun to catch them while I was editing!

I am so in love with making these fusion home videos, and I’m really hoping to start incorporating them into my business! This was my very first time trying it out, and while I know I have some things to work on, I have to say that I’m proud of this video! I’m so excited to learn more and do these types of videos as much as I can! It’s like a home movie, but with a little *UMPH*! Know what I mean?

Here are some of my favorite stills from the stop-motion photos:

What’s your favorite way to capture your family’s memories while you’re out and about?

Everly Mae | Houston Newborn Lifestyle Photography

I met Kori when she was pregnant with her sweetie daughter, Everly, and we instantly clicked! She is hilarious, and brilliant, and I’m so looking forward to seeing those same qualities in Everly as she gets older! She already has so much of a personality, and she was only 10 days old when we did her session! Also, she has got one of the the cutest, most awesome names! Everly Mae was named after her both of her great-grandmothers which is so sweet, and thoughtful! I loved getting to spend time with this amazingly sweet family!

I loved this sweet moment between Everly and her great-grandmother!
