Save $300 On Any Wedding Collection | Houston Wedding Photographer

I’m really happy and excited to announce this special, limited time deal on any 2013 wedding collection! Wedding photography is one of the most expensive parts of paying for a wedding, and it’s honestly with good reason! Your wedding photos are the only thing, aside from…you know… your everlasting love, that will remain after your wedding day. Your first family heirloom is your wedding album! The memories of the first day you became a new family are so important, and having the perfect photographer there to give you those memories in a physical form is a must!

So, I’m pleased to say that for one month only, I will be offering a $300 discount on all 2013 wedding collections to Houston couples! Getting this discount is super easy, too! All you have to do is book your wedding with Dandy As Lions Photography before 15 June 2013! Your wedding could be this year, or could even be as late as 2014 – you’ll get the discounted wedding collection as long as you’ve booked before the 15th of June 2013!

This discount is for a very limited time, so be sure to get in touch soon to ensure you get the benefit of the discount!

Have a lovely weekend, y’all!

Family Beach Day | Houston Photographer

Living in Webster, which is about 20 minutes from inside The Loop of Houston, has a major perk for me. That perk is that we live about half an hour away from the beach of Galveston Island! Now, my husband is more of a mountain lover, and while I adore the mountains, something about being in the sand while the waves crash over my legs makes me totally giddy! I would spend all day on the beach, if I only could!

After way too many attempts of organizing a family beach day, we finally did it! We woke up on Monday, fed the baby, got ready and headed out! It was such an amazingly beautiful day. I felt so refreshed being in the sun with my little family; watching the birds gliding overhead; seeing everyone enjoy their rides on rented bicycles. It really made me happy! My husband even had fun, too! It was too bad that our little girl was exhausted, since she didn’t get to have her morning nap in. Thankfully, we brought our Moby Wrap, so I could easily wear her around the beach and let her relax – if you’ve never tried to push a stroller through soft sand…I don’t recommend it at all. The stroller is pretty much useless in that situation. I have to say, I’m pretty proud of myself for being able to snap some photos and wear a 20lb baby at the same time! Holler for multi-tasking photographer mamas!

The Withrow Family | Houston Photographer

I recently spent some time with the super fantastic Withrow family! Cassie and I have several mutual friends, but had never met until recently. At the risk of sounding a wee bit strange, I totally always wanted to meet her and become friends. She always seemed like a sweet, cool, fun loving lady with a freaking hilarious daughter! Turns out I’m psychic, because all of those things are true about her! Okay, maybe I’m less psychic, and more just really good at Facebook & Instagram stalking…but that doesn’t matter right now, guys!

Cassie had contacted me earlier in the year about the possibility of photographing her and Howie’s March wedding, but I was sadly unavailable. We decided to have a portrait session after the wedding was the way to go! So, we met at Friendswood’s 1776 park on a perfect and beautiful Sunday afternoon. I was so glad I got to have fun with & photograph this amazing family!

This last photo was a test shot for light, and let me say – it’s one of the best I’ve ever taken!

In The Dark | 30 Days 30 Photos

This past week has taken a serious toll on so many people. After hearing about and seeing what has happened in Boston and West, Texas (which is practically down the road from my hometown of Waco), a dark cloud has settled over me. While I am so thankful that my family and friends are with me day in and day out, I cry for those who are not so fortunate.

I don’t typically engage in spiritual talk on the blog, but my spirituality and faith in the Divine, Creative Energy (some call it God, Spirit, the name doesn’t matter) is what is keeping myself going. I have prayed so much and so hard; with everything I have, I ask God to be with the families and loved ones that have been touched by these events. I can’t even begin to imagine what those who has been directly involved in these horrible tragedies are feeling, but I know that things will get better. Maybe not in the near future, but one day, the light will stream through the darkness.

Megan is Graduating | Portraits

A few days ago, I posted a preview of my sister’s college graduation portraits, and today is her full on entry! I visited our hometown of Waco this past weekend for a belated celebration for my birthday. While my sister, and I were both in town, we traveled downtown to take some photos!

First, a little bit about my baby sis.

My little sister is absolutely my best friend! She has always been there for me, and I know she always will be. She’s one of the smartest, sweetest, most beautiful, and funniest people that I know. She’s graduating from Texas State (EAT ‘EM UP!) in August, and walking the stage next month. She has worked so hard while majoring in Communication Studies (she wants to do PR work), and I know that she is going to have so much success in life!

Here’s to you, sis! I love you so much!
